Sea Floats
"I have always felt that making sea floats was simply fun and whimsical.
Recently, I figured-out a way of working that would allow me to place colors--
I'd previously thought impossible to put together--together.
It was like magic, and suddenly I had bright vermillion red right next to
turquoise blue and cream."
"I began to think of these small orbs as tiny round paintings."

In time, as Kelly's web site continues to be developed, we will feature a number of sea floats made over the past fifteen months that are held in private collections. Since Kelly changed the her approach to making the floats--the way she combines and uses color--she has created more than six hundred in the past year. We will draw images from this group of 600, and not the estimated 10,000 floats she has previously made with the public at the Lincoln City Glass Center--where Kelly is a well-respected teacher and one of the co-owners.
